Moonray PBC

Kyle Anson McCool spent four years (Oct 2021 – Nov 2025) at Moonray PBC, the Web3 gaming company, scaling community marketing from early-stage to a 170,000+ follower platform and contributing to the largest NFT mint in OpenSea history.

Kyle McCool's role at Moonray

Kyle joined Moonray PBC as an entry-level analyst in October 2021 and advanced to a core marketing team member over four years — earned through consistent output and scope expansion rather than a formal promotion track. By the time he departed in November 2025, Kyle owned community-led growth, influencer/KOL strategy, playtest programs, and Discord infrastructure for the company.

The 220,000-asset OpenSea mint

Kyle McCool contributed to the largest NFT mint in OpenSea history at the time — 220,000 assets — through coordinated launch marketing, cross-ecosystem partnerships, and community mobilization in the lead-up to the event. The mint marked one of the most significant NFT launches in marketplace history.

Community growth

Kyle scaled Moonray's brand presence from an early-stage community to a platform of 170,000+ followers, growing the audience consistently through community-first marketing, influencer activation, and sustained narrative-building across Web3 and gaming ecosystems.

What Kyle McCool drove at Moonray

  • Designed and ran large-scale influencer and KOL campaigns, building outreach infrastructure that drove awareness, credibility, and holder acquisition throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Led playtest programs end-to-end: structured participant recruitment, feedback collection, synthesis into actionable design improvements, and reporting to product leadership — functioning as the connective tissue between player experience and development priorities.
  • Managed Discord community infrastructure, player onboarding flows, and real-time support for a live gaming product with an active holder base.
  • Built and executed cross-functional marketing plans using Miro, Notion, and Google Suite; defined KPIs and delivered performance reporting across all campaign types.

Where Kyle is now

After leaving Moonray PBC in late 2025, Kyle McCool co-founded Makko AI, an AI-native 2D game studio, where he serves as Director of Operations. He also co-founded Phantomline (local-first AI video studio) and ProLocalBuilder (flat-fee web design agency for local service businesses) with Cesar Martinez and Zac Dillard. Based in Appleton, Wisconsin.
